COUNSELLING

Crisis and short to medium term individual counselling in a safe and confidential environment is available free of charge to women, and young women aged 12 and over, who have been victims of recent, past and/or childhood sexual assault.

Rape crisis support is offered to women and young women who have been recently sexually assaulted. A counsellor will be available for the woman as soon as possible.

Counselling is by appointment only. Unfortunately due to demand there can be a wait for short to medium term counselling. However an upfront oneoff support session is made available to every woman when she puts her name on the waiting list.

The CASV accepts self or supported referral - either the woman ringing herself or someone ringing on her behalf with her full knowledge and consent.

Counselling is provided by experienced counsellors who have received specialist training in the area of sexual assault.A counsellor is available specifically for young women aged between 12 and 18 years of age.

Interpretators can be arranged for women who are hearing impaired or from a non-English speaking background.

The Centre has private counselling rooms and counselling is confidential. You can remain anonymous if you wish.

The CASV has parking for people with physical disabilities nearby, and all areas of the centre are wheelchair accessible. The Centre is close to a bus stop and is a minute walk from the Woodridge train station.
